What's that in your air freshener? Laundry detergent? Garden fertilizer? Shampoo?
Find something you have at home, read the label, and do a web search for more information about an ingredient you don't recognize.
A lot of the ingredients on household products aren't familiar. Some of them can be harmful, but it doesn't always say so on the label. If you do your homework and learn more about some of these ingredients, you can make help your family make good choices about products that will keep you and Puget Sound healthy.
How to search?
Pick an ingredient you don't recognize, then type it into a search engine. Some popular search engines:
Now, look at the results of your search. You will probably get a lot more information than you can read! Check the first two or three websites your search recommends, and see how well their information matches. It's a good idea to have an adult help you with this, since research reports can be tough to read.
