Job Title: Community Organizer
Supervisor: Canvass Director
Work Schedule: Weekday evenings 15-25 hours per week

People For Puget Sound, a non-profit citizens' group working to protect and restore the health of Puget Sound and the Northwest Straits, seeks energetic and enthusiastic Canvass Specialists to help build our membership and annual giving programs. As a constant “voice” for our organization, Canvass Specialists are an integral part of our staff raising grassroots support for local environmental issues and helping new members get involved with People For Puget Sound.
We offer a flexible, team-oriented environment for an individual with plenty of initiative and a passion for the environment.
Job Duties:
- Recruit new members, activists and volunteers through door-to-door canvassing
- Share educational messages about the Puget Sound ecosystem
- Contact People For Puget Sound’s activist members to encourage them to take legislative action
- Data entry into membership database
- Other duties as assigned

Pay Rate: $9-$15/hr (rate varies depending on $$ raised each pay period)

Job Title: Membership Associate
Supervisor: Donor Relations Manager
Work Schedule: Flexible, generally 5pm to 9pm, 4-5 days a week

People For Puget Sound, a non-profit citizens' group working to protect and restore the health of Puget Sound and the Northwest Straits, seeks an energetic and enthusiastic Membership Associate to help build our membership and annual giving programs. As a constant “voice” for our organization, Membership Associates are an integral part of our staff connecting our members to our work and helping them to feel involved.
We offer a flexible, team-oriented environment for an individual with plenty of initiative and a passion for the environment. At 16-20 hours a week, this part-time position offers the option of health benefits after 6 months employment.
Job Duties:
- Call and write members to ask them to renew their membership or make a special gift (80%)
- Recruit and educate new members through event tabling and other outreach projects (5%)
- Data entry into membership database (5%)
- Contact People For Puget Sound’s members to encourage them to take action (5%)
- Assist with answering phones and other duties as needed (5%)
