"Jumping in" for Puget Sound

Debbie Mahan has been a member of People For Puget Sound for many years, and recently felt the desire to contribute her talents in a more active way toward a cause about which she’s very passionate.

“I finally decided to jump in,” she said, “and working with People For Puget Sound staff is such a positive experience that I sure wish I had done it sooner!”

Most recently, Debbie provided plenty of much appreciated, last-minute assistance by helping make the 2007 Harbor Lights auction a huge success.

A computer scientist by day, Debbie likes to spend her free time sailing, hiking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, scuba diving, reading, traveling, and discussing politics.

“The Sound is a unique place that afford us incredible opportunities for outdoor recreation,” said Debbie. “We need to protect and preserve its biodiversity so future generations can enjoy it too.”
