South Puget Sound residents are invited to a full slate of free and
family-friendly education programs presented by People For Puget Sound
coming this Fall.

Beginning Saturday, September 6, the ever-popular night explorations of the
“Pier Peer” program resume and continue through December at Olympia’s Boston
Harbor Marina. Marine naturalists lower a light into the dark Sound waters
and explain the lives of the creatures attracted to the light.

Programs are scheduled for September 20, October 11, November 15, and
December 13. Groups are limited to 40 so reservations are required. Every
child must be accompanied by an adult. Call (360) 754-9177 for reservations.

At the Traditions Café in Olympia, People For Puget Sound presents its
“Exploring South Sound” speaker series beginning on September 10 at 7 PM.
The season’s opening talk is “Adapting Puget Sound Communities to a Changing
Climate,”
presented by Doug Myers, People For Puget Sound Director of
Science, with Faith Hagenhofer of  the “Rising Tides” project.

Programs in the “Exploring South Sound” series include:

Sept 15 – “The Outcome of the Deschutes Estuary Feasibility (aka Capitol
Lake) Study”
