About Puget Sound Voices

“Puget Sound Voices,”  is a radio program produced by People For Puget Sound and KSVR-FM (Skagit Valley College). The half-hour interview program began airing weekly in October on Tuesdays at 5 PM on KSVR 91.7 FM.

“This is an interview program for the whole Puget Sound community that bring forth the stories of elected officials, educators, business owners, historians, musicians and activists” said producer Britta Eschete, North Sound education and involvement coordinator.

“All our guests share their concerns about the health of the Puget sound watershed, what they are doing to improve those conditions, and how our listeners can pitch in and save the sound through conservation and political activism.”

Program guests have included Governor Christine Gregoire, Partnership executive director David Dicks, businessman Bill Wright, author Stacey Malkin, historian and author Les Eldridge and scientist Jan Newton.

“My hope is for Puget Sound Voices to be heard throughout the Puget Sound region,” said Eschete.  “We’d like to provide an informative half-hour show that motivates our listeners to change the way they live and help restore the Sound to a state of balance between human impact and nature.”

“No matter what political or economic philosophy one might have, if you want to provide a good life for yourself or your children, an understanding of the environment in which we live is vitally important,” said Rip Robbins, KSVR station manager.
