Puget Sound is a learning adventure and the biggest laboratory is right here at our water's edge. There’s so much to discover and learn about Puget Sound and whether you’re 5 or 95, it’s fun.

For example, is it called “Puget Sound” because of the noise it makes? Or, would Puget Sound overflow if everyone flushed their toilets at the same time? That’s silly. But what if a starfish on a beach gets attacked by a hungry seagull and loses one of its arms? Will the arm grow back or will the starfish die?

Take the “Critter Quiz” and test your Puget Sound IQ.

Parents and Kids: Check out the Puget Sound Explorer’s Guide for year-round learning in and around the Sound.

Teachers and home school parents: There are online resources and a Puget Sound Literacy Kit at your finger tips here.

There's something to learn about Puget Sound every day of our lives... and something to teach others about the Sound, too.

And don't forget to tell us your stories about what you’ve learned about Puget Sound and its plants and animals.

See you on the beach!  Last one in's a rotten egg!
